Kap G is a Mexican-American rapper. His discography includes the album, SupaJefe (2017), and the mixtapes, Real Migo Sh*t (2014) and El Southside (2016). He made a cameo appearance in the comedy-drama film, Dope (2015). Kap G was born George Ramirez on July 31, 1994, in Long Beach, California. His parents are originally from San Marcos, Mexico. He’s the youngest of six children. Kap G spent his childhood in College Park, Georgia. He attended Tri-Cities High School in East Point, Georgia. He had a thing for basketball prior to music.
CAREER
Kap G’s debut single “Tatted Like Amigos” featuring Chief Keef was released in 2012. The following year he collaborated with Young Jeezy on the track “Jose Got Dem Tacos”. His debut mixtape, Real Migo Sh*t, was released in 2014. Other projects followed including Like a Mexican (2014), Migo Work (2015), and the single “La Policia”. Kap G’s 6th mixtape, El Southside, was released in March 2016. It featured guest appearance from Young Thug, YFN Lucci and Cash Out. Tracks from the project include “Like El Chapo” and “Girlfriend”. The latter was remixed by Quavo and Ty Dolla Sign. Kap G was featured in the video, Town Bizzness Pt 2 (2014). He made a cameo appearance as “Fidel X” in Dope (2015) starring Shameik Moore.
Kap G was first discovered by record producer/A&R executive Kawan Prather. He’s currently signed to Atlantic Records. His debut album, SupaJefe, was released in April 2017. It featured artists like Pharrell Williams, Chris Brown and Dae Dae. Selected songs from the album include “I See You”, “I Heard”, “CEO” and “Icha Gicha”.
