BOTTINEAU, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a Bottineau woman is dead after getting ejected from the vehicle she was driving.

Officials say the 28-year-old was traveling to Bottineau on Saturday when she failed to negotiate a curve and drove into a ditch. Authorities say the driver corrected and crossed the road into the opposite ditch, hitting multiple trees before she was ejected.

The Highway Patrol says the vehicle started on fire after coming to a stop. The patrol is investigating the accident, and officials didn’t immediately identify the driver.

A 37-year-old passenger was injured.
